The victims were identified early Tuesday morning, according to theNew York Post, as the birthday girl’s 66-year-old grandmother, Marlene Lu; 68-year-old great aunt, Ho Hua; and 41-year-old cousin, Tu Nguyen. 3 Los Angeles K-9 Officers Wounded, Armed Suspect Killed in Standoff

Three senior members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s K-9 unit were wounded during an armed standoff in Lincoln Heights, Wednesday. The officers had been searching the 3800 block of Broadway for a parolee at large at around 3:50 p.m. when they finallylocated him barricaded inside a shed, the LAPD said on Twitter. The suspect then refused to “comply with officer orders” to surrender and so K-9 officers were called in and"chemical agents" releasedon the shed to try and force the suspect out, the LAPD added.

3 Louisiana Women Arrested After Dog Is Found with His Hind Legs 'Maliciously' Sawed Off

Photo: Facebook Three Louisiana women were recently taken into custody after they allegedly neglected and abused a paralyzed dog named Buddy. According to a vet who examined the dog, his hind legs appear to have been cut off in an act officials are calling “horrificanimal cruelty.” Dante’s Hope East, a local animal rescue, was called to the scene on Sept. 25 to retrieve the abandoned canine who was left to die, but contacted the sheriff’s office when they noticed Buddy’s back legs were both missing.
