Nearly three dozen ice fishermen needed to be rescued this weekend in Wisconsin when the piece of ice they were standing on began floating hundreds of feet from the shore.
According to Fox stationWLUK, 34 people were rescued from a chunk of ice that broke off from the shoreline in Green Bay on Saturday morning.
“It sounded like, almost, somebody fired a gun out there,” fisherman Shane Nelson told the outlet of the moment the ice separated just after 10 a.

An avalanche at a California ski resort has taken the life of a 34-year-old man.
Cole Comstock was killed in an avalanche that took place in the Alpine Meadows area of the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows ski resort near Lake Tahoe on Friday, according to thePlacer County Sheriff’s Office.
The Blairsden resident was the only confirmed fatality, police said.
The avalanche occurred around 10:16 a.m. local time in an open area between the Scott Chute and Promised Land skiing trails, the resort said.

A 34-year-old politician is about to become the youngest woman in the world to lead a nation.
Sanna Marin will become Finland’syoungest prime ministerever and the youngest national leader in the world, after being chosen late Sunday night to take over on behalf of the country’s Social Democratic Party.
Marin, who has been a lawmaker since 2015, was Finland’s transportation minister and Rinne’s deputy prime minister prior to being tapped to lead the government over the weekend.

A 34-year-old woman has been found dead less than a week after she went missing on a hike in a Montana, according to authorities.
The National Park Serviceconfirmed in a press releasethat the body of Jennifer Coleman was discovered in Glacier National Park on Sunday, just four days after she was reported missing.
Park officials said Coleman, a resident of Richmond, Virginia, was found deceased “in a steep and rocky area near the Continental Divide” of the Montana park.
