When San Francisco 49ers playerMarquise Goodwinwas suddenly absent for two games last November, neither the team nor the 28-year-old wide receiver provided a public explanation. Now, Goodwin and his wife, Morgan Goodwin-Snow, have revealed the heartbreaking reason why.
In a video posted to theirYouTubechannel on January 16, the couple revealed that Morgan — a former track and field star at the University of Texas at Austin — experienced a miscarriage in late November, losing their twin boys.

After the team’s 31-7loss against the Philadelphia Eagles,CBS Sports is reportingthat its starting quarterback, Brock Purdy, will be out for six months following a torn UCL injury to his right elbow that he acquired during the game.
According to apost-game report on the 49ers website, the injury occurred after Purdy, 23, was sacked on the final play of the team’s first offensive series and took a hit during a pass attempt that resulted in a fumble.

A fourth child has now died following a devastatinghouse fire last week in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The St. Paul Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE in an email that Muaj Vang, a 1-year-old boy, died Saturday evening.
The blaze previously claimed the lives of the boy’s other siblings, 5-year-old twin sisters Sivntxhi Vang and Ntshiab Vang, and brother Muaj Tshav Ntaj Vang, 4, according to police.

An elementary school student is among the dead after an F3 tornado tore through southeast Alabama, killing 23 people, destroying several homes, and leaving debris strewn across roads.
Taylor Thornton, a fourth grade student at Auburn’s Lee-Scott Academy, died as a result of the fast-moving tornado that touched down in Beauregard in Lee County around 2 p.m. local time,WRBL reported. The tornado was at least a half-mile wide as it ripped through the region.

On Friday, Alissa McCommon, 38, of Covington, was arrested and charged with rape of a child, the Covington Police Department and the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
She was arrested at her home in Covington.
The mother of two was taken to the Tipton County jail where she was held on a $25,000 bond.
