Five days after charging Missy Hernandez’s boyfriend with her murder, and 40 days after the 30-year-old woman went missing, authorities recovered her body in the waters of the California Aqueduct, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Hernandez, also known as Missy Perez and the mother of an 11-year-old daughter, had not been seen since the night of Dec. 7, when she left an art show in downtown Fresno with the alleged killer, whom police identified as her boyfriend, Ramon Jimenez.

Five people were killed after a “significant tornado” moved through rural Bollinger County in Missouri early Wednesday morning, Sheriff Casey A. Grahamconfirmed in a Facebook statement.
“It’s with great regret that I can confirm five fatalities; names will be withheld until we are sure all family members have been notified,” the sheriff wrote. The Grassy and Glenallen areas, approximately 120 miles south of St. Louis, were the sites of the destruction, he said.

Five people have died after a light aircraft crashed in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Sunday.
The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed it is investigating the crash, which involved a Piper PA-32R-300 aircraft, onTwitteron Sunday evening.
“The Horry County Coroner’s Office is still in the process of identifying the victims. They will be releasing the information once everyone is identified and next of kin are notified,” North Myrtle Beach Police Public Information Officer Pat Wilkinson told CNN.

At least five people have tragically died after two floatplanes crashed off the coast of southeastern Alaska on Monday afternoon.
The incident took place just after 1 p.m. in the George Inlet area near Ketchikan and involved a small floatplane, carrying 10 guests and a pilot from the cruise ship Royal Princess, Princess Cruises spokeswoman Alivia Owyoung tells PEOPLE.
The flight was returning from a Misty Fjords tour.
