A 5-year-old Texas boy is finally headed home after spending nearly two months in the hospital to recover from a near-fatal cardiac arrest that led to more than an hour of CPR.

On Saturday, the 5-year-old boy’s mother, Amber Schofield,penned an emotional note on Facebook, writing that Charlie died in his sleep the previous night, “cuddled in my arms with daddy’s arms wrapped around us.”
“Last night at 23:14 my best friend, my world, Charlie, took his final breath,” she wrote. “Our hearts are aching. The world has lost an incredible little boy.”
Alongside the heartbreaking note, Schofield shared a happy family photo of herself and her husband Ben Procter with their son.

A family is grappling with the unexpected loss of their 5-year-old daughter.
By the time the infection was identified, it had progressed to a point where Cathy’s body had gone into failure, leaving little chance for recovery.
“After three days she had lost her voice completely, so we were obviously a bit concerned,” Sutton told7News. “But the doctors just said it was a viral infection and to keep doing what we’re doing and let it run its course.

A mother and father are mourning the loss of their daughter who was killed in a crash over the weekend in Auburndale, Florida.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 92 and Havendale Boulevard, the sheriff’s office said.
Swan’s truck crashed into the Anglins' car, which had entered the intersection after the light turned green, even though other traffic held for the approaching police vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
