Over 50 dogs are getting a second chance at life thanks to a group of quick-thinking rescuers.
According to a release from FOUR PAWS, police officers and animal rescuers from Dog Meat Free Indonesiaintercepted a delivery truck carrying 53 dogs bound for an illegal slaughterhouse.
The canines' saviors found the pups tied up in sacks with their mouths bound. Almost all of the dogs were emaciated and under the age of one, per the release.

An American Airlines flight slipped off a runway at New York’s Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport at around 4 p.m on Thursday, leading to 53 people having to be evacuated from the aircraft.
The plane had traveled from Philadelphia and slipped after landing due to snowy weather conditions.
None of the 50 passengers and three crew members on the American Eagle flight 5811 were injured.

About five years ago, Jeff Craddock was in his late 40s and busy directing and editing films for his work at Harvard Business School. But his wife and colleagues started to notice a change. He’d forget to follow through on simple tasks at home or would ask a colleague a question, return to his desk and moments later ask the same question.
“This behavior seemed to be odd,” Elissa Carreras, Craddock’s wife, tells PEOPLE.

A 53-year-old man from Utah died this week after he attempted to save a person from drowning in a river, authorities announced.
According to Utah’sGrand County Sheriff’s Office, the body of Clay Petty was found Tuesday morning more than a mile from where he went missing two days earlier along the Colorado River.
Before his disappearance, Petty had “attempted to help someone across the river” before he was “swept downstream,” the sheriff said.
