A 57-year-old woman has died while hiking the Grand Canyon in triple-digit temperatures.
The Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report of a distressed day hiker inTuweep— a remote, hard-to-reach area of the Grand Canyon National Park — on Sunday at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to a National Park Servicenews release.
A ranger responded to the report and arrived on the scene on July 3 at 1 a.

A day spent hiking in Arizona took a devastating turn for one Rhode Island couple after the wife was found dead.
Though Miller’s cause of her death has not yet been determined, the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, along with police, believe it may be due to heat-related illness and environmental exposure, according to the outlet and Fox affiliateKSAZ.
Miller went missing earlier on Saturday while hiking the popular trail with her husband,AzFamily.

“We’ve beat the odds,” Banzhoff, 65, told the outlet. “I’m so proud of her, she’s been a trooper through the whole thing.”
The couple’s new bundle of joy comes five years after they reportedly lost their 13-year-old daughter Molly to an undiagnosed brain tumor.

Get ready to update your smartphones once again, because nearly five dozen new emojis will be making their way to your screens later this year.
TheUnicode Consortium, a non-profit organization that oversees emoji standards across devices, on Tuesday revealed 59 new emojis spanning a variety of themes and variants. The additions include icons representing a deaf person, a bionic arm, a waffle and a person in a wheelchair. There will also be a “people holding hands” emoji that will provide171 combinationswith different skin tones, making it possible for couples from across the globe to find a symbol that represents their relationship.
