One little boy in Massachusetts is doing his part to help Australia cope with the devastation of the wildfires from thousands of miles away.
Two weeks ago, when 6-year-old Owen Colley learned about the impact of the catastrophic fires on the country andits wildlife, he told his mother, Caitlin Colley, that he wanted to help somehow, according toCNN.
Besides being familiar with many of the country’s animals, the Hingham kindergartner also had a special connection to Australia, having lived there for a few months when he was a toddler because his father Simon Colley grew up in Sydney, the outlet reported.

Police have not revealed what evidence led them to charge Duke’s mother, Jakee Contreras, and his aunt, Jennifer Contreras, with murder, but the statement indicates their arrests immediately followed an interview the mom had Saturday with detectives.
A family member called police last week, requesting they check on Duke after he hadn’t been seen in two weeks.
When police met with Duke’s mother at her Apple Valley home, she allegedly acknowledged he was missing, and had been for weeks.

6-Year-Old Detroit Boy Shoots 1-Year-Old Sibling.
A 6-year-old boy found an unsecured gun at home and shot his 1-year-old sibling twice, according to Detroit police.
The child is currently in stable condition, Fitzgerald added.
According to police, the children’s mother was down the street at a neighbor’s house and the father was in the backyard with an uncle and additional children working on a fence.
“Here we are again. Once again, another senseless, preventable, horrible incident,” Fitzgerald said during a press conference.
