Women are constantly subjected to unsolicited criticism and shaming for how and where they choose to feed their babies. While the choice is entirely theirs, loved ones and strangers (even doctors!) alike seem to believe that they’re entitled to share their own (often unkind or forceful) suggestions. If a mother is unable orchooses not to breastfeed, she’s often madeto feel guilty or inadequate. If she does breastfeed, she’s likely to at some point be told to cover up or go somewhere “more private.

A woman who was seven months pregnant was shot and killed after her botched robbery attempt sparked a gunfight during a drug deal in Chicago, authorities said.
Genesis Escobar wasshot multiple timeson Monday afternoon in a residential area on the northwest side of the city, CBS News reported.
Escobar, 21, had entered a vehicle around 1 p.m. local time and “announced a robbery,” the Chicago Police Department said in a statement.

Seven out of eight San Diego-area families who found themselves stuck in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover have now made it out of the country, thanks in part to their local school district, officials say.
It was a happy ending for some of the parents and children, who range in age from preschoolers to teenagers. All of the families had traveled individually during summer vacation to visit relatives.

The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office was serving drug-related search and arrest warrants last week, authorities toldCBS News. According to police, Andrew Brown Jr. was shot in the back as he was trying to drive away from officers. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not said if Brown was the subject of any warrant.
According toABC News, a Pasquotank deputy fired the fatal shot and was wearing an active body cam at the time.
