A 7-year-old California boy has died one week after hismother allegedly drowned him and his 12-year-old brotherin an irrigation ditch, PEOPLE confirms.
According to investigators, early on the morning of June 29, Telnas, 45, brought Jacob and older brother Jackson to a field across the street from the Porterville home where they were staying and allegedly drowned them in an irrigation canal near a corn field. She allegedly left their bodies behind.

Tragedy has befallen a Mennonite community in Missouri, where a horrific accident involving a pick-up truck and a horse-drawn buggy has claimed the life of a young boy while leaving several of his family members with serious physical wounds.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatchreportsthe accident, which occurred Thursday morning just before 7 a.m. along a highway in St. Francois County, killed Mervin Shirk, 7.
Four of Mervin’s relatives — including his 50-year-old mother — were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

A 7-year-old boy was seriously injured after he fell approximately 35 feet from a ski lift in Massachusetts, authorities said.
The Canton Fire Department responded just before 4:30 p.m. on Monday to the Blue Hills Ski Area following a report that a child had fallen from the lift, Chief Charles Doody said in apress release.
“His injuries are serious, but are not believed to be life-threatening,” the release said.

A little boy who is living in a domestic violence shelter with his mother recently penned a heartbreaking letter to Santa Claus, asking him to bring him a “very good dad” this holiday season, the shelter said.
The Fort Worth, Texas-based shelter explained in the post that Blake’s mom discovered the handwritten letter in her child’s backpack just a few weeks ago.
“Dear Santa,”the letter began.
