Danny Sheehan, the youngAquamanfanwhose story captured the hearts of millions around the world, has died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer, his family announced over the weekend. He was 8.
The little boy died just after midnight on Sunday, according to a post on their Facebook page,4TheLoveOfDanny. He had been battling brain cancer for four years,his obituary stated.
“Just after midnight, while in our arms, Danny took his last sweet small warm breaths and took flight,” the post read.

Magawa, the “hero rat” who saved countless lives through the detection of landmines, has died.
Magawa “passed away peacefully” over the weekend, according to an announcement on Instagram fromAPOPO, the non-governmental organization that trains rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis.
“Magawa was in good health and spent most of last week playing with his usual enthusiasm, but towards the weekend he started to slow down, napping more and showing less interest in food in his last days,” thestatementread.

An 8-year-old girl and her family’s dog died earlier this month after a tree fell on a tent they were sleeping in during acamping trip, authorities said.
The tragic accident occurred around 5 a.m. local time, “instantly” killing the 8-year-old and their family dog, a relative wrote on aGoFundMepage.
Deputies were called to the scene in the Pine Idaho area, off Old Logging Road, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
