The first food product possibly associated with thewidespread salmonella outbreaklinked to raw turkey has been identified.
Jennie-O Turkey is recalling 91,388 pounds of raw ground turkey, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Thursday. Before then, no specific brand of turkey was linked to the outbreak, which has left one person dead and 164 others sick in 35 different states.
The FSIS and Center for Disease Control are currently investigating the salmonella outbreak and warn customers that more products from different companies may still be affected.

Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Los Angeles that saw a driver back up over a 91-year-old woman, who was then left for dead when the driver fled the scene.
At about 7 a.m. Monday, the victim was struck while walking across an alleyway, and the vehicle was “backing unsafely when the suspect vehicle collided with a pedestrian,“according tothe Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver then got out of the truck and noticed the pedestrian “laying on the roadway.

An elderly man who decided to join an Alabama gym last year has captured the hearts of people around the country for his signature workout attire and the “motivation and inspiration” he provides each time he shows up to exercise.
Anytime Fitness in Semmes recently named Lloyd Black its Member of the Month and praised the 91-year-old for routinely showing up to the gym three times a week in his denim overalls to get some exercise in.

Investigators in Alabama say they have an audio recording of a 15-year-old girl brutally murdering her 19-year-old sister and 44-year-old mother — but have no idea what may have sparked the violence.
The stabbing deaths of Rosa Aminta Maldonado and daughter Rosa Lee Maldonado occurred last week, moments after one of the victims called 911.
The teenage suspect is charged as a juvenile with two counts of capital murder.
