95-Year-Old Resident at Colorado Assisted Living Facility Fatally Shoots Employee: Police

Photo: David Zalubowski/AP/Shutterstock Police were dispatched to Legacy Assisted Living around 7:15 a.m. and upon arrival found the victim, a man, had sustained gunshot wounds, the Lafayette Police Department said in astatement on Twitter. The victim, who was reportedly in his 40s and whose identity has not been released, was transported to the hospital and put on life support but was later pronounced dead, the AP reported. Then, Payne allegedly shot the victim in the head, Deputy Police Chief Brian Rosipajla told the AP.

96-Year-Old Holocaust Survivor Killed When Russian Forces Hit His Ukraine Home

He was 96. Romantschenko survived Nazi death camps — including Buchenwald, Dora and Bergen Belsen — and served as a vice president of the Buchenwald-Dora International Committee for Holocaust survivors for many years, working “intensively on the memory of Nazi crimes,” the group says.

97-Year-Old Froze to Death Near Door of Assisted-Living Center in Colorado, Says Family Lawsuit

A 97-year-old woman froze to death outside of a Colorado assisted-living center after wandering outdoors in the middle of the night during freezing cold temperatures, a lawsuit from the woman’s family alleges, blaming the center’s staff for negligence. Footage reportedly showed her walking through the snow with her walker and injuring her ankle. She crawled on her hands and knees to the doors in front of the nurse’s station, leaving a trail of blood behind her, and banged on the doors in order to be let in.
